Which category are you?

Dear 10X Business Builder,

Categories are everywhere.

As I write this email from the airport, I see:

  • Male and Female bathrooms
  • Departure and arrival signs
  • Baggage claim and group transportation
  • Pre-checked and regular security
  • Different airlines
  • And the list goes on and on

Categories helps us to classify information, make fast and accurate decisions and save time.

One of the benefits of coaching thousands of business professionals since 2002 in the art of influence, speaking, and sales, is that I have learned to develop “categories” for many different projects in our company. For example, content development, course creation, and audience analysis.

Let me elaborate… When it comes to speaking to groups, every professional falls into ONE of these FIVE categories:

1) You do not speak to groups because you don’t perceive the benefits of doing so:
Maybe your job does not require you to speak, maybe you have some online leads coming your way, or maybe you have a “referral only” business and you believe that speaking to groups will not add value to what you do. If that describes you, I encourage you to do further research on how speaking can benefit you. Speaking to groups is one of the leading strategies of top business professionals.

2) You do not speak to groups because in spite of knowing the benefits, something holds you back:
You know speaking can help you advance your career goals such as increasing sales, augmenting your influence, creating a larger impact in your community, getting a leadership role and even experiencing more fulfillment; but for some reason you are not speaking. Maybe because of the fear of speaking, the fear of being judged, the fear of failing, or because you tried in the past and did not get the results you wanted. For whatever reason, you are not speaking.

3) You currently speak to groups and love speaking, but you do not like closing:
I see this happen a lot. People come to me and say: “Roberto, I love speaking and I do it all the time. I just don’t like closing (or I do not know how to close).” If that is you, I understand. You have no fear, you actually get super excited to share your message to groups, but your conversions are disappointing because you lack closing skills.

4) You speak to groups, you love speaking, you enjoy closing and your results are OK:
Most professionals who are currently speaking fall under this category. They have adopted speaking as a business strategy and they are reaping the results of it. However, the results are just OK (not extraordinary). Sometimes when you speak, you close the entire room, then you go several talks experiencing poor results and you start wondering, “can I do better”?

5) You are a rock-star speaker. You are a speaking machine and you love to move audiences: You speak at your community, your own seminars, you do a lot of video marketing AND your results are awesome. You may even help others to speak and communicate to groups.

So which category do you fall under?

The reason I created these categories is so I can quickly identify where my clients are and how I can help them.

If you fall under category 1 or 2, we will help you start speaking and profiting from group presentations immediately.

If you fall under categories 3 or 4, we will work with you to increase your conversions ASAP, so you maximize your opportunities.

If you fall under category 5, as a Influencer yourself, you know that you can always take your skills to the next level. You know as well as I do, that the moment you tell yourself “I have mastered speaking”, you stop growing. I would love to show you some advanced influence and speaking strategies that we have developed over the last 15 years.

Here is a quick video where I expand on these categories:
