Dear 10X Business Builder,

In this video you will discover ONE major idea that will help you (or someone you know) to overcome the Fear, Uncertainty, Nervousness, Doubt and Anxiety (F.U.N.D.A.) of speaking in front of a group of people or in front of a camera — once and for all.

It is so simple, so powerful and there is no need to practice this idea….it was a powerful realization for me…

Let me know what you think,

Roberto

Welcome back to our Speak with Confidence Series. This is your friend here, Roberto Monaco with influenceOlogy. In these video series, you’re going to discover how to speak with amazing, unstoppable, unshakable confidence, in front of one person, ten people, a hundred people, a thousand people, if you do webinars, or in front of a camera. Now, just in case you have missed the previous videos, in these series, I have included a link for you in the end of this video here.

Now, today, I’m going to share a very simple strategy. Now, it’s very simple but for some clients, it’s life changing. Here’s the strategy: it’s just the realization that you already are a very confident person. “Roberto, are you crazy?” “I’m drinking water, right, this is water. Look, I’m not crazy.” Now, a lot of our clients that come to us, InfluenceOlogy, loan officers, chiropractors, realtors, financial planners, scientist, CEOs, software engineers, sales people, speakers, coaches they come to us and say, “Hey, I have master my subject, and I’m really good one on one, but when I have to speak in front of a ten people, a hundred people, I have a challenge. I lose my confidence or my certainty.”

Now, a long time ago, I was listening to a audio book from Richard Bandler, one of the founders of NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and he told us a story that was super powerful. He said that one day; one of his patients approached him and said, “Richard, I lost my certainty. I’m uncertain.” and he looked at him, and said, “How certain are you about your uncertainty?” The guy goes, “Uh-huh? “Yeah, how certain are you about your uncertainty?”

Now, if you think about it, when people tell me, “Hey, man, I don’t have the confidence when I speak in front of a group.” Then I ask them, “Hey, how confident are you that you don’t have the confidence when you present in front of people?” They’ll be like, “A hundred percent.” How is that possible? How can you be a hundred percent confident or certain about your lack of confidence or uncertainty?

Now, the realization that I had many years ago, is that these people, who are very successful already, they have this knowledge; they’re very smart people, but when it comes to the realm of speaking or presenting in front of a camera, is that they’re just not tapping into their confidence or certainty. You don’t lose it. It’s not like, “Oh, I lost my confidence. I left my confidence on the beach, on Wal-Mart.” You didn’t left your confidence; you didn’t lose it all right? It’s there; you just not tap into it because confidence or certainty is context-dependent.

Now, if you’re a mom, how certain are you, or how confident are you that you love your kids? A hundred percent. If you’re a dad, how confident are you that you love your kids? A hundred percent. How confident are you that you’re a good person? I hope a hundred percent. How confident are you that you love to help people? A hundred percent, so your confidence a hundred percent, a hundred percent, percent, and you’re just not tapping into it in a context of speaking right?

I want you guys to ask yourself, what is the process that you go through in your minds, in your body, to generate confidence? How confident are you when you play sports for example, if you play sports, or if you play cards? “I’m super confident.” You show up; you just know right? You just know, so can you apply those strategies, the way you think, the way you breathe, the way you behave in an area that you’re super, super confident and transform and transfer that into the realm of presenting and speaking? The answer is yes, a hundred percent. Okay, so that’s the idea today.

Don’t ever say that, “Hey, I don’t have the confidence or I lost my confidence, or I am so uncertain with speak.” Now, remember you got to speak yourself in a state of a, one hundred percent certainty and confidence when you present because you already know how to access that state. Yes? Of course you do, how do you do that? Remember a time when you felt unstoppable. Can you remember a time when you felt every single cell in your body was like, “Yeah, I am so certain.” so you know how to access that emotional state, that certainty, and I will encourage you to access that state before you speak.

Now, obviously, I can be a very confident or certain person, but if I’m going to do a open heart surgery right now, I don’t have the skills. Get it? I’m not a doctor. I think that confidence, certainty can take just up to a point. At some level, you got to match the skill level right?

Now, some of the people that we deal with, that we talk to, we coach, we help, they already have the skill level; they’re an experts, so we teach them the confidence piece, the psychology piece, and how to get the expertise, and put in a structure and a format that their messages are persuasive.

Now, I hope you enjoy this little tip here today.
